The WAPC Board of Directors met on April 22, 2018 at the Annual Conference, held at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake.

The Board welcomed two new members: Angela Rohan, PhD, to be our new Consumer or Other Member-at-Large, and Mandy Walter, RN, BSN, MSN as our new Nurse Representative for the Southcentral Region. Dr. Rohan is the Senior MCH Epidemiologist / CDC Assignee to the Wisconsin Division of Public Health. Ms. Walter is an OB Educator at Watertown Regional Medical Center.

The Board acknowledged outgoing members of the board for their dedication to and impact on WAPC and perinatal care.

In recognition of a lifetime of dedication to improving outcomes for women and babies, the Perinatal Foundation’s Resource Development Committee approved a motion to create a special fund named in honor of Frits Broekhuizen, who passed in January.

The Board expressed deep gratitude for the many years of leadership that Ann Conway provided to WAPC, and for the indelible impact she has had on perinatal care in the state of Wisconsin.

The Search and Screen Committee reported on their process of recruiting and selecting a new Executive Director, and recommended the hiring of Eileen Zeiger for that position. The Board approved Ms. Zeiger’s appointment at that meeting, with a start date of May 21, 2018. The Board also voted to update staff titles to reflect current responsibilities. This included changing Kyle Mounts' title to Deputy Executive Director – Programs, and that of Barbara Wienholtz to Senior Executive Assistant.

The Board accepted the independent financial auditor’s report of our 2017 finances, and did not identify any deficiencies in internal controls. We again received the highest opinion that auditors can offer.

The next Board meeting will be on Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center in Oshkosh, WI.
